A letter from our founder
Why we built Medflow Learning
Like most medical students, my revision has been spent glued to question banks late into the evening after long days on placement. We all know the drill: cycle through hundreds of single-best-answer questions, read the explanations, and try to commit national guidelines to memory before exam day.
Along the way, two frustrations kept holding me back.
I am a visual learner
Medicine is not a wall of text; it is deeply algorithmic. When a patient presents with chest pain, breathlessness or collapse, decisions happen in branches: the ECG findings, the observations and the pathway to activate first. Reading five dense paragraphs after a long day on the wards rarely made things stick. I kept drawing decision trees on scrap paper just to make sense of the guidance. I wanted a platform that showed me the exact point where my reasoning branched away from the right pathway.
Running out of questions
Whenever I found a weak area, I would work through every question on that topic in another bank. Once those 15 or 20 were done, that was it — there was nothing left to practise. The only option was to reset the whole question bank, wiping months of progress and statistics, just to repeat questions I had already memorised.
The problem wasn't us as students. It was the way revision platforms were built.
What Medflow does differently
You never run out of practice on your weak spots. Our core bank is written and vetted by clinicians, and when you exhaust a topic or miss a question, Medflow creates a fresh, clearly labelled case testing the same concept with a different patient — no reset required.
Clinical pathways are visual. Interactive flowcharts map the guidance step by step so you can see exactly where your thinking diverged.
The textbook sits right beneath your answer, so there is no juggling six browser tabs.
And it is built by a student, priced for students — because medical school is expensive enough already.
Medflow was built out of genuine need. We will keep improving it so you walk into your exams, and onto the wards, with real confidence.
Thank you for trusting us with your preparation.
Warm regards,
